Only a few traces of the original building, dating back to 1519, remain, cosnsting of the internal structure of the wall. The church dates back to the 19th century, and has been remodelled on several occasions, and its current appearance is characterised by its neoclassical facade. The 18th century interior high altar and the frescoes by Fred Pittino made in 1957 are of particular note.
