Cjase Cocèl is an interesting Museum-Laboratory that re-proposes the living conditions of Friulian peasant families in the first half of the last century. The reconstruction of the interior of the house and its productive functions are matched by other exhibition spaces that illustrate the economic and social context in which the peasant farm operated. It is perhaps the most alive, true and complete museum of rural civilization in the region. All the environments of the Friulian memory have been recreated, from the kitchen with the typical "fogolâr", to the bedroom, to the granary.
The smells are striking: the one the stable because of the presence of animals, of must where the wine is made, of coal in the forge, the scent of bread in the oven and of flour in the mill. There are lace makers, a spinner, a miller, a blacksmith and a glass of wine waiting for you at the tavern. This exhibition, conceived in a dynamic and engaging way, allows you to make a fascinating "journey" back in time, getting you to also learn about peculiar aspects of the country's history, such as the important role played by the "Scuola dei Merletti" (lace school), founded at the end of the 19th century by the Countess Cora Slocomb di Brazza.
