With the spread of devotion to San Giacomo in the second half of the 12th century, many churches dedicated to the saint began to rise, and this church, the oldest in Fagagna, dates back to this period. Renovated and enlarged in the sixteenth century and restored in the mid-nineteenth century, the building was finally restored and consolidated after being damaged by the 1976 earthquake.
